"If you’ve raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in thickets by the Jordan?" (Jeremiah 12:5). Our journey is intended to be more than simply "stumbling" through the days while the world "wears us out.” We are made to experience the thrill of "running with horses” and to navigate life amongst the "thickets." The RWH blog focuses on both the spiritual race of which Jeremiah speaks, and the physical act of running that I absolutely love. In short, it's where "the miles meet the Message" to provide insight, perspective & encouragement that might enable you & I to successfully run either of the races set before us. May our course be purposeful and may we be passionate in our pursuit of the abundant life He desires for us.

Run For God - 2016 / Week 3

Even by our typical over-the-top standards, week 3 was exceedingly enjoyable and enthusiastic. Thank you to all of our walkers and runners who came out for the perfect night of exercise and program time. I counted over 70 of us making laps on the ROCC track and every single one of you looked more relaxed and confident than in either of the past two weeks - keep trusting the plan!

If you missed this week, please take some time to review the slides and let me know of any questions.

In short, we saw how NOT to invite neighbors to Easter services, or to your next RFG program, and the importance of connecting on social media for encouragement and instruction (including information on the quarterly RFG magazine 'CONNECT' that is available now on RunforGod.com). These videos are embedded below. We reviewed Psalm 19 in speaking to God's creation, the image of the sun "running with joy" across its path, and the importance of God's Word.

In Running 101 we took time to wrap up the shoe discussion, talk about stretching (dynamic vs. static) and practice stretching, and then most of the remainder of our time was spent on running form, or style. By the way, we will never look at a Pringles chip quite the same! We wrapped up with some comments on the ROCC 5K and a quiz to see if you can determine future running success by how a runner looks .... :)

Have a great week - see you soon.

David
