"If you’ve raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in thickets by the Jordan?" (Jeremiah 12:5). Our journey is intended to be more than simply "stumbling" through the days while the world "wears us out.” We are made to experience the thrill of "running with horses” and to navigate life amongst the "thickets." The RWH blog focuses on both the spiritual race of which Jeremiah speaks, and the physical act of running that I absolutely love. In short, it's where "the miles meet the Message" to provide insight, perspective & encouragement that might enable you & I to successfully run either of the races set before us. May our course be purposeful and may we be passionate in our pursuit of the abundant life He desires for us.

RFG III - 2014 Week 12

"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith" - 2 Timothy 4:7

Paul's life journey was coming to an end, as he provided Timothy (and us) with a few of his final thoughts and reflections. In reading through this final known letter from the Apostle Paul, I am left feeling encouraged and motivated to follow his example. One that, despite a rough beginning, ultimately is remembered by steadfast determination to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the discipleship of others. If ever an individual left this earth completely used up, it was Paul.

As we come to the end of RFG Season III, I am hopeful that each of us will find this determination to fight a good fight, keep the faith and finish the race! I am also hopeful that we adopt this attitude across our faith walk and our physical endeavors.

It has been a great season and I cannot wait to celebrate your 5k this Saturday.

Review the slides for any additional information and let me know of any questions. I will see you all at 7:30 for the group photo and then we will start making our way to the start line.
