"If you’ve raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in thickets by the Jordan?" (Jeremiah 12:5). Our journey is intended to be more than simply "stumbling" through the days while the world "wears us out.” We are made to experience the thrill of "running with horses” and to navigate life amongst the "thickets." The RWH blog focuses on both the spiritual race of which Jeremiah speaks, and the physical act of running that I absolutely love. In short, it's where "the miles meet the Message" to provide insight, perspective & encouragement that might enable you & I to successfully run either of the races set before us. May our course be purposeful and may we be passionate in our pursuit of the abundant life He desires for us.

RFG III - 2014 Week 10

Counting the Cost (Luke 14:28-30) ... Week 10 is when  most of us start to realize that we are close to the goal, yet there is still a great deal of hard work remaining in these final weeks. In fact, there is more hard work than we had imagined. So as we work through the training runs of week's 10, 11 and 12, keep in mind tonight's study. You have counted the cost and you have determined (at least you determined back when you signed up) that it is worth the cost. It is worth the sweat, the pain, the time, the blisters, on and on. You are way too close to not give it all you have for three more weeks. Remember that race day is always the easiest training run you will have, so keep working through the hard ones and enjoy the morning you complete that 5k.

Tonight's slides and video link are below. Today was a huge day for American Marathoner Meb Keflezighi at the Boston Marathon. We talked about this some tonight along with an introduction to one of the greatest 5k runners of all time, 'Pre' - Steve Prefontaine. Enjoy.
