"If you’ve raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in thickets by the Jordan?" (Jeremiah 12:5). Our journey is intended to be more than simply "stumbling" through the days while the world "wears us out.” We are made to experience the thrill of "running with horses” and to navigate life amongst the "thickets." The RWH blog focuses on both the spiritual race of which Jeremiah speaks, and the physical act of running that I absolutely love. In short, it's where "the miles meet the Message" to provide insight, perspective & encouragement that might enable you & I to successfully run either of the races set before us. May our course be purposeful and may we be passionate in our pursuit of the abundant life He desires for us.

ROCC Run For God : Free to Run

The theme for our Monday, March 12th study, was focused on giving our gifts back to God.  An appropriate start to this session was the overview provided by the Minnichs on The Potter's House ministry.  Our May 12th race will benefit The Potter's House, and our church regularly supports this Winston-Salem Urban Services program.

We then segued into the interview with Ryan Hall (click the following link to view this interview : Ryan Hall Interview - 2008) and followed up with discussion on hitting the wall; physically and spiritually.  When you have the opportunity, check out this interview and consider the application that you might find with your own "obsessions" in life.

We are in week #4 of our journey and if you have any questions from the slides below, please let me know.  A reminder that next week we will use week #6 content from the study book, but the week #5 training plan.  This will allow us to hear from Dr. Wiggy Saunders regarding the nutrition topic.

Have a great week.  Keep running with horses!
